About Me

From what I've read author bio’s are supposed to be written in the third person.
Since I'm not fond of the ‘norm’ I'm going to pretend I don’t know that.

I find writing much easier than actually speaking to people one on one, that’s probably because I'm easily distracted and tend to wander off in my mind. Now if it’s a good friend and there is great music, good food and wine, I will tame that need to wander.

Ideally I would love to find a cave somewhere (with all the modern cons) hide away and continue to create. I love to create a good story with characters that are real and believable. Characters that are flawed (squeaky clean characters bore me) and have some spunk and who are not afraid to push the acceptable boundaries excite and challenge me. Giving those characters a voice and pulling them (and you) into a world of my creation is something I love to do.

When I'm not working on my latest mystery or thriller, you will find me reading, listening to music, eating chocolate, tasting a few good wines, or diving into the corporate world and working on strategic possibilities and business counselling.

If you’re looking for brag points on a more scholarly level, you won’t find them, what you will find is my Jewel House Series. So feel free to browse, leave a comment or ask a question.

“Muffled Sounds” is an awesome psychological thriller. Delving into the variations our human selves chose to use our mind. The perpetrator: cunning, charming, sadistic to reach their malevolent and self serving goal. The victim using intelligence, wit, sound planning, raw courage and the passion of a lover and sound friendships to ensure survival. McDonnell has developed her characters in a way the reader will feel immersed in the story. Page turning until the very end !
